The print is from an escutcheon plate I made for a client in Maryland, and it depicts an oysterman tonging for oysters in the Chesapeake Bay. The craft is a Chesapeake Bay log canoe shown in its early form- the boat has morphed into an extreme racing sailboat with little vestige of its humble past.
