Claude Dupuis
Hailing from a family of builders, Claude first became interested in woodworking in high school. Largely self-taught in turning, Claude received his first lathe from his wife as a gift in 2008. It came, however, with a bit of a caveat: Claude had to use it to create a four-poster bed for her. With a full-time job in construction and limited skills, he would finish the segmented Queen Anne bed for her... ten years later. Since then, Claude has made a name for himself in segmented woodworking, which requires technical expertise that he developed over many years with a lot of patience. He carefully selects wood that is unique, beautiful, and locally harvested for his turnings, and spends much of his time teaching others how to turn.
Claude has been featured on New Hampshire Chronicle, and has written numerous articles on how to construct segmented turnings, pens, and staves. He is also a member of the NH Guild of Woodworkers and the League of NH Craftsmen.

It’s always an adventure as you never know what you will get from a piece of wood. I take a lot of pride and joy in my work and I love exploring with different types of woods and turned projects. The possibilities are limitless!
