The Furniture Masters welcome Guest Artist
Peter Sandback, Harrisville, New Hampshire
Peter Sandback has gained a national reputation for his intricate pattern work creating handmade tables inlaid with nails. He was named a winner of Martha Stewart’s American Made 2015 national competition.
Since 1994, Peter has maintained a studio in Harrisville, New Hampshire. He received a BFA in industrial design from the University of Michigan and an MFA in sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Jeffrey Cooper, Chair of the Furniture Masters, said about Peter, “The Furniture Masters are always looking for artists who elevate the art form of fine furniture making. Peter Sandback meets that criteria and beyond by bringing a unique design aesthetic and excitement to the work he creates.”
For Peter, the idea of joining forces with other furniture makers was most appealing. “Furniture making is a solitary art and the built in support and friendship among the Furniture Masters provides a real sense of community. I feel honored to exhibit my work alongside fellow makers who have gained a reputation for excellence far beyond New Hampshire’s borders.”
