Welcome To The New
Hampshire Association of Furniture Masters
Web Site

To own a fine piece of studio furniture is to own a work of art. "The rare pieces," notes Furniture Master Garrett Hack, "the ones with the best chances of being treasured and surviving from generation to generation, have a quality that transcends style, materials, or craftsmanship; these pieces sing to you in ways that you might not fully understand."

Working in concert with a member of NHFMA, you can participate in the creation of your own family heirlooms. You become part of the creative process, consulting with the chosen master on the style of the piece, the size and shape, and the materials used. The piece that results is more meaningful and more intimate in light of your contributions and your relationship with the furniture's maker.

You can become the proud owner of a furniture piece in one of several ways:

  • Contact a furniture master (you can find contact information under "The Masters" section of our website) and work with him to create a unique piece that will immediately be placed in your home or office.

  • Contact a furniture master and work with him to create a piece that will compete for entry into the annual NHFMA auction. If your piece is selected, you can experience the pleasure of having your exceptional piece of furniture recognized publicly.

  • Contact a furniture master and select a piece that you like from those already in his design portfolio. (Some of the masters' more popular pieces are produced in small quantities directly by them or by assistants under their supervision.) For a sampling of works in an artist's portfolio, please visit his page under "The Masters" section of our website.
