The New Hampshire Furniture Masters are honored to present “Furniture Masters 2015: Our Stories,” an exhibition of works by 15 members of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters. The show will be on view at Keene State College’s Thorne-Sagendorph Art Gallery, located at 229 Main St, Keene, NH 03435, from June 5 through July 23, 2015. An opening reception will be held on June 5 at 5:30 p.m. A second reception with the Masters will be held on July 2nd. Admission to the exhibition, as well as the opening receptions, is free.
“The New Hampshire Furniture Masters are proud to play a part in continuing the rich legacy of fine furniture making in New England,” notes Rindge, NH-based Master William Thomas. “We celebrate our 20th anniversary this year and we’re delighted to have the chance to share a cross-section of work from our diverse community of makers with visitors to the Thorne-Sagendorph Art Gallery. The show offers us a wonderful opportunity to present our work for the first time in this part of New Hampshire, and we look forward to the experience!”
“Our Stories” will feature a beautiful assortment of some two dozen exquisite handmade cabinets,desks, tables and chairs by Furniture Masters Ted Blachly (Warner, NH), Aurelio Bolognesi (Hardwick, MA), Jon Brooks (New Boston, NH), Greg Brown (Bedford, NH), John Cameron (Gloucester, MA), Timothy Coleman (Shelburne, MA), Jeffrey Cooper (Portsmouth, NH), Garrett Hack (Thetford Center, VT), David Lamb (Canterbury, NH), Terry Moore (Wilmot, NH), Jeff Roberts (Unity, NH), Brian Sargent (Candia, NH), William Thomas (Rindge, NH), Thom Walsh (West Stockbridge, MA), and Brad Wolcott (Holden, MA).
“We’re all very excited to have the opportunity to introduce our work to those in the greater Keene area,” says Furniture Master Chair Jeffrey Cooper. “The exhibition at the Thorne-Sagendorph provides a perfect setting for the Furniture Masters to meet people in that part of New Hampshire.”
“Our gallery visitors are in for an amazing experience – the furniture pieces that will be displayed are truly unique and exquisite. We are very pleased to feature the work of our state’s furniture masters, and highlight the tradition of artisan furniture making,” said Maureen Ahern, director of the Thorne- Sagendorph Art Gallery.
