His furniture incorporates traditional joinery and fine hand-finished work. Marcoux works primarily in solid domestic hardwoods. His particular interest is in the design and construction of desks and special purpose case pieces. He enjoys the challenges of building beautiful pieces with comfortable writing or working surfaces while also meeting functional needs of storage, organization, security, and display.

An associate master of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association, past president of the Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers, and a state juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, Marcoux has received the League's awards for Best Traditional Design and Best in Wood. His residential furniture designs have been recognized in national competition.
